This is so so simple and you can prepare it no time. When you have un-announced guests and you wish to serve a high tea this is very quick and foolproof.

Ingredients for the Batter:
2 cups of Chickpea flour
1/4 tsp of asafetida (heeng)
1/2 tsp of Chilli powder
1/2 tsp of Salt
1 cup of water
Instruction :
Take all ingredients in a bowl and add half cup to one cup of water to make thick batter. Do not add all the water all together , add little by little to make proper consistency. It should not be too thin otherwise it will not coat the pakoras well.
Now lets make a coriander mint chutney.
1 cup of fresh washed coriander leaves
1/2 cup of mint leaves
1/2 tsp ground cumin seeds
1/2 tsp of salt
1 tsp Mango powder (optional) or add 1 tsp of lemon juice
Now lets gather all ingredients for the filling :
- 8 Slices of Sandwich bread
- 4 Potatoes boiled, peeled
- 1 onion fine chopped
- green chilies chopped (optional)
Spice Mix:
- 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1 tsp of crushed dried mint leaves or use fresh mint leaves
- 1/2 tsp of ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp of mango powder
- 1/2 tsp of ginger powder / if you don’t have that use fresh grated ginger
- 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds
Start with very little oil in a pan
add chopped onions, cumin.
Mash the potatoes and mix all the spices in it, add chillies
once the onions are nice golden brown add the potato mash and take it off the heat.
mix everything well, keep aside to let it cool down a little.
- trim the bread slices
- on one slice spread some mint-coriander chutney on the other spread the potato mash.
- sandwich these two slices
- finish all slices into four sandwiches
- cut each of them in half
Honestly, I can serve these sandwiches just like these. So you have another variation in the same recipe which you can try some other time. Now lets see how to finish these Bread Pakoras:
Heat oil in a deep Kadhai Wok pan and keep it ready
Now carefully dip these little beauties in chickpea batter one by by one and fry.
Finish all the sandwiches carefully.

Aloo Bonda
Now lets make the aloo bonda. Here we are using same chickpea batter and Potato mash.
Take little part of the mashed potatoes, flatten in your palm and put a little mint chutney in the center and roll it into a ball.
Dip each one by one in chickpeas batter and fry individually.
They are ready to serve with Mint Chutney and tamarind chutney.
Looks tasty 🙂
