Dahi ke Chawal-Curd Rice

Feeling super lazy.. but didn’t want to break my promise to myself to post everyday.. So here is what I did for today’s lunch.

Curd Rice

Ingredients (for just yourself)

Boiled Rice

1 big cup

Curd

Half a cup

Cold Milk

quarter of a cup

Salt

To taste

Ginger (finely diced)

Β 1 inch piece

Green chillies (finely diced)

1 tsp

Mustard seeds

1/2 tsp

Asafoetida

A pinch

Curry leaves

1 spring

Ghee

1/2 tbsp

Method :

  1. Boil rice, adding salt. Cooling slightly.

  2. Mix with curds. Add milk.

  3. Heat ghee. Fry mustard seeds and asafoetida.

  4. Add curry leaves and chopped ginger and chillies. SautΓ© for a minute.

  5. Switch off the fire and add the rice curds mixture to the pan, toss well. Serve with pickles if you want your meal to be more spicy.
